What is DeviceBondage.com?
Device Bondage is a sub-website of Kink.com, it features metal and mechanical bondage scenes, with little or no rope bondage involved. It was started by Peter Acworth, Kink’s owner, to show off new and different styles of bondage that his audiences desired.
Location, year of establishment, owner & history
DeviceBondage.com was started in 2008 by Kink owner and CEO, Peter Acworth. It was a continuation and variation of Hogtied, their original rope bondage site. He wanted to expand visibility on the various kinds of bondage that can be used. Device Bondage incorporated bondage staples such as shackles, fetters, chains, and more. He was able to take it a step further by building custom BDSM furniture and using power tools and pipe fittings to restrain submissives. This allowed them to be bolted in many positions, quickly, which was a struggle when using ropes.
Field of expertise, activities, structure & audience
The audience for DeviceBondage overlaps with that of Hogtied.com and other bondage based websites or fans. The same themes of D/s dynamics, torture, punishment, and forced orgasms remained. With metal bonds, there were fewer concerns about blood flow loss to limbs and positions could be quickly changed. Models were quickly placed in position, locked in, and the scene could begin.
Most often the handler took the role of rigger and Dom as well. Occasionally a Domme was off-camera, directing a handler or other performer on what to do. Many of the early shows were streamed live due to the ability to speed up the bondage. Eventually, DeviceBondage.com became almost an entire post-production affair.
Related practices and fetishes
Device Bondage utilizes many familiar confinement techniques associated with bondage. It frequently utilized stocks, metal, leather cuffs, and always included aspects of torture and punishment. Scenes finished with an interview and aftercare for the performers.
