A close-fitting bodice that hugs the torso. Unlike a corset, it doesn’t constrain or shape the figure of the person wearing it. Basque are often made from satin or similar fabric, but there are versions made from vinyl and leather as well.
A garment used to tighten the torso into an attactive shape, usually by narrowing the waist and boosting the chest. Corsets have boning that, when the corset laces are tighten, forces the body to contort to the desired shape. Though originally worn by french noblewomen in the 16th century, corsets
