Each-way Thief

Have an each-way double at Haydock. ELEGANT ESCAPE (3.15) rarely runs a bad race and can make another brave effort under top weight. Conditions will suit Colin Tizzard's strong stayer and he has had a wind op since his run in the Welsh National. WELSH SAINT (3.50) finished with something left in the tank at Cheltenham and this longer trip will suit.

Longshot

LORTON (6.00 Newcastle) shaped well coming back from a long break when fifth here last time and can build on that.

Templegate

QUEL DESTIN (2.45 Wincanton) clocked a personal best when winning a Sandown Listed race as he liked last time. He can take this step up in class in his stride in conditions that suit him right down to the ground.

Tom Pepper's NAP

SAM BROWN (1.50 Ascot) is a chaser on the up and this step up in trip will suit perfectly. He should take this on the way to being a Festival player.

SunRatings' NAP

SOPHAR SOGOOD (4.20 Lingfield) is as consistent as they come at this level and will love this longer trip. Richard Kingscote is the man to follow at the track.

Sirius NAP

PORTLEDGE (6.00 Newcastle) is a course and distance winner that looks on a decent mark. This race is weaker than a lot he finds himself in.
