Aldi Black Friday shopper spots disappointing 1p ‘discount’ in supermarket

ALDI has left one shopper baffled after they spotted a Black Friday deal on a box of biscuits that's price has been reduced by... 1p.

Black Friday is supposed to be a day of incredible deals and discounts aimed at saving customers cash for Christmas.

Shoppers have been snapping up bargains from a range of different retailers, including £100 off a Lay Z Spa and up to 20 per cent off at Next.

But one of the worst deals on offer was found on a McVities Victoria Biscuit Selection box at the discounter, which costs £3.99 down from £4.

The shopper sarcastically tweeted "Black Friday is here, bargain of the day".

The 600g pack of snacks aren't available to buy elsewhere, but 550g boxes typically cost £4 from stores like Iceland or Sainsbury's.

Our tips for finding the best deals this Black Friday and Cyber Monday

IT might be tempting to dive in and snap up LOADS of items on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but here’s how you can guarantee you’re getting a good deal.

PREPARE Research the items you want to buy and find out the cheapest price. Websites like PriceSpy, PriceHistory and CamelCamelCamel will give you historical data on prices so you can see how much you should pay.

GET FOLLOWING Follow your favourite shops on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and sign up to its deals newsletter to get the latest on any offers. We post the best deals in our Sun Money FB group too.

EARN CASHBACK Check websites like Quidco and TopCashback BEFORE you place your order. Cashback websites PAY you to shop. All you have to do is click through their links and the money is added to your online account, usually within 14 days.

CHECK FOR CODES Take a look at The Sun Vouchers, and see if you can get extra savings with discount codes.

It's not the first time that these measly discounts have been spotted in Aldi.

Earlier this month, we reported how the discounter had knocked just 1p off the price of Celebration tubs, Swizzles tubs, After Eight mints and Terry's Chocolate Oranges.

But much like before, Aldi told The Sun that it was a labelling mistake. A spokesperson added: "We apologise for any confusion caused."

Aldi doesn't normally take part in the Black Friday shopping extravaganza but it does up its game on the week's Specialbuy items.

The retailer came under fire yesterday after it's Kevin the Carrot toys sold out in store within hours of being put on sale.

Shoppers queued outside stores from 6:30am to get their hands on them - fights even broke out at the tills.

Chancers then even listed the popular toys on eBay for hundreds of pounds hoping to make some cash.
