FANCY a tumble on the dryer? Surprisingly, nine out of ten couples add a bit of lust to the laundry by bonking on top of the washing machine – and one in three say they’ve done it during a wash cycle for extra thrills.
In fact, apart from the bed it’s the most popular place to have sex in the house, according to a poll by property website sellhousefast.uk.
Other favourites include the shower, sofa, floor, stairs and kitchen worktop.
But which is a household hotspot and which is a domestic disaster for sex?
Kate Jackson asked London couple Jed Gharbi, 24, who works in customer services, and his girlfriend, Marta Jimeno, 25, who works in social media, to give their shared flat some raunch ratings out of five.
The washing machine
JED: “It’s not one we’d get to do often. It’s not awkward, position-wise. I can see why people would like the vibration.”
MARTA: “I’ve seen this one in movies and it seems quite sexy. It’s definitely the vibration that gives it the edge.”
JED: “Like it. The wheels on the bottom of the chair mean we can move it about for different positions.”
MARTA: “It’s a bit exhausting for the woman as she’s on top, but the chair is wide enough for us both and I like it for a bit of variety.”
The kitchen sink
JED: “It’s in front of a window, with a path outside so the other flat owners could walk past. I like the risk but I wouldn’t want to be caught.”
MARTA: “Not for me. It’s cold and it doesn’t seem very hygienic. We’re quite adventurous and like variety but it’s not sexy at the sink.”
JED: “We love it on the table, though it doesn’t happen every day. It’s exciting because it’s different. Better than the washing machine.”
MARTA: “This is one I wish we did more often. It’s a really good position with me sort of leaning on the table and Jed behind me.”
The wood floor
JED: “It’s hard for my knees but I quite like it. It feels more dirty, more wild.”
MARTA: “Not bad. It’s good for me, worse for Jed on top. Carpet would be nicer.”
JED: “This is one we both really like. It’s the feeling of the water that really makes it. It’s not particularly easy to hold her up in a shower cubicle but it’s fun.”
MARTA: “It’s not an easy position in the cubicle but I love it in the shower.”
MOST READ IN FABULOUS
JED: “We’re unlikely to do this living with others. Whoever’s underneath would get carpet burns and it would be hard on their back.”
MARTA: “It’s pretty uncomfortable and you couldn’t stay there for too long. It would have to be a quickie!”
